An EAP offers confidential counseling and referral services to employees and their dependents (spouses/children). It is a starting place for addressing personal and work-related issues.
For employees, it is a resource to address work/life issues, promote a healthy lifestyle, and identify and resolve workplace challenges before they result in high medical/disability costs.

This means the fact that an employee has consulted with the EAP, as well as the details of the conversation, are protecting against disclosure.
Member rights include: protection of privacy, being treated with respect and dignity, taking part in their treatment planning with providers, and voicing complaints, grievances or appeals. BHS actively works with members to ensure these rights are protected.
